COURSE overview
This beginners course is aimed at those with an interest in learning practical construction skills in carpentry and metalwork, and applying those skills to the theatrical environment.
It is an intensive and practical week long course in the use of equipment and techniques involved in translating the stage designer's requirements from sketch or technical drawing to full scale scenic elements. Demonstrations of the skills involved by RADA's teaching staff will be followed by the opportunity to try them for yourselves and produce several examples of functional pieces of basic stage scenery. This will involve the use of RADA's scenic construction workshops, which include both fully equipped wood and metal work spaces.
