Hello from a Technical Theatre student
Hi everyone reading this! My name is Izzie, I'm 19 and from Derby. I cannot believe I've been at RADA for a whole 5 weeks, its going so fast and I'm loving every second! Still get a buzz going through the grand front doors with my ID card on!
I'm also loving living in Central London, its about 10 minutes walk to the West End and Covent Garden and 20 minutes to Camden and Southbank, its a dream! Its also meant that I've had the opportunity to see some great plays and musicals. It's lovely going to the theatre with people who are as passionate about it as me!
Having been inducted into the Academy with health and safety and first aid training, as well as learning my way around the maze of corridors; I'm now on the lighting and sound rotation so the last two weeks we've had linear teaching on both subjects and its straight into the first shows. I'm sound oping a wonderful play by Bernard Shaw called Mrs Warren's Profession in the Gielgud which I was in tech for last week alongside rigging and focussing the lights for all 3 RADA venues.
Today we've had the final dress rehearsal and it's opening night tonight, how exciting! These photos show what I've been up to and I'll let you know how the show is going next week!!
